Wyoming WIC is administered by the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH), Public Health Division. The program provides free nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and community services for pregnant women, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 across all Wyoming counties. All caregivers are welcome to apply, including dads, foster parents, grandparents, guardians, and step-parents. Wyoming WIC does not ask about immigration or citizenship status, and WIC participation is not considered in public charge determinations.

Online Participant Portal

Wyoming WIC provides a secure online portal at wic-portal.health.wyo.gov/ParticipantPortal. Families can use the portal to apply for WIC, check income eligibility, request appointments, send messages to WIC staff, and upload documents needed to determine eligibility — all from home or anywhere with internet access. This makes enrollment more accessible for families across Wyoming's large geographic area.

eWIC Card for Convenient Shopping

Wyoming WIC benefits are loaded monthly onto an eWIC card that works at authorized stores statewide, including major grocery chains and local retailers. The eWIC system automatically identifies WIC-eligible items at checkout — participants do not need to tell a cashier they are using WIC. Many Wyoming WIC-authorized retailers support self-checkout with eWIC. The WIC Shopper app helps families find approved items and check benefit balances before shopping.

WIC Food Package Update — April 2026

Wyoming WIC implemented the final phase of the federal WIC food package modernization starting April 1, 2026, adding new foods and providing more flexibility in obtaining benefits. Contact your local WIC clinic or visit health.wyo.gov/publichealth/wic for the current list of approved foods and updated benefit information.

Tribal WIC Programs on the Wind River Indian Reservation

  • Northern Arapaho Tribe WIC — Arapahoe, WY. Call 307-857-2722 to schedule an appointment.

Wyoming WIC uses the federal income eligibility guidelines, set at 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. These limits apply uniformly across all Wyoming counties. Income is assessed for the entire household — a pregnant woman counts as two household members (herself and the unborn child), and each additional unborn child in a multiple pregnancy adds one more member.

Adjunctive Eligibility

Wyoming residents already enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF automatically meet WIC income requirements and do not need to provide separate income documentation at their appointment. Bring proof of current enrollment in one of these programs. Tribal members on the Wind River Indian Reservation who participate in the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) may also qualify through adjunctive eligibility.

Income Limits

For a household of four, the maximum gross income allowed is $4,957 per month or $59,478 per year (2025–2026 federal guidelines). Gross income — before taxes or deductions — is used to determine eligibility. The table below shows limits for all common household sizes.

Who Counts as a Household Member

All people who share income and expenses in the home count as household members, regardless of whether they are all applying for WIC. A pregnant woman counts as two members. Foster children, grandchildren, and other dependents in your care count as household members.

Immigration Status

Wyoming WIC does not ask about immigration or citizenship status. All Wyoming residents who meet income and categorical eligibility requirements may apply, regardless of immigration background. WIC participation is not considered in federal public charge determinations.

Foster Children

Foster children are categorically eligible for Wyoming WIC. Foster placement papers or a foster award letter serve as proof of eligibility. Foster parents, guardians, grandparents, and step-parents can apply on behalf of eligible children in their care.
